Hundreds of area bikers will spend their Saturday honoring military personnel and their families while doing something that they love.
The Patriot Guard Riders are hosting a Help on the Home Front ride this weekend to raise funds for the programs that assist present and past military personnel.
The ride will begin in Sidney, then continue to Kimball with a stop at the VFW hall. The riders will then travel to the Gering Legion Hall, the Bayard VFW Hall, then to the Dalton Fire Department, with a finish at the Sidney Legion Hall.
The Help on the Home Front ride has been held annually in eastern Nebraska, but the western Nebraska Patriot Guard decided it was time for them to help out too.
Ride Captin, Todd Flick, said, "it's for the respect of the veterans and their families and just to let them know that we are still here for them and we are here for our veterans and just to support these young men and women that are serving our country and the older veterans that have served our country in the past"
