GORDON, Neb. (AP) - A teenage Gordon boy has died in the rollover crash of a pickup on a county road in Nebraska's Panhandle.
Jamian Simmons is the deputy Sheridan County attorney. She said Monday that the pickup was northbound on a county road a couple of miles northwest of Gordon when its driver lost control of the truck around 9:30 p.m. MDT Sunday.
The 17-year-old boy, a passenger, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Nebraska State Patrol says he had not been wearing a seat belt and was thrown from the truck.
The driver was taken to Regional West Medical Center in Scottsbluff for treatment. Officials had no word on her injuries.
The State Patrol says the girl was 14. Simmons would not comment on the girl's age or whether it was legal for her to be driving.
