A two car accident near lake minatare sends six to the hospital.

According to Nebraska State Patrol a southbound vehicle on County Road 24 driven by Scottsbluff police officer Shawn Mcfarland collided with an eastbound car driven by 37 year old Lisa Gonzalez of Bayard.

Both vehicles, Mcfarland's Dodge Charger owned by the city of Scottsbluff, and Gonzalez' 1997 Saturn, rolled into the southeast ditch and were totaled.

The State Patrol says restraints were in use for all the passengers.

It required the jaws of life to get the three passengers out of Mcfarland's vehicle, and all passengers were transported to regional west medical center for treatment, and then released.

The intersection is controlled by stop signs for north and south bound traffic.
