In just a matter of months, the community of Melbeta came together to create a playground.
The Village of Melbeta will be celebrating the completion of their new park and it has been a long time in the making.
About five years ago, Melbeta purchased the land with the intent to build a park for the community but didn't have the funds to do so.
That is when the people of Melbeta took on the project themselves.
The group began applying for grants and collecting funds starting in October.
$65,000 and many volunteers later, they will finally see their work pay off.
"It is so exciting because back the first of may this was just dirt so to watch it materialize out of almost nothing is just amazing," said Laura Leggott.
For the community, having this completed park and playground will be something the village has not had in quite sometime.
"Even though there is only 150 people in town, there are about over 50 children in town, they've just not had any place to play.
The park will officially open to the public on Saturdsay with a celebration from noon to 4 pm.
Congressman Adrian Smith and Senator Leroy Louden will be on hand for the ribbon cutting ceremony at 2 pm.
