Banner Co. gets substance abuse prevention grant

One Western Nebraska County has received a little help with substance abuse prevention activities for kids.

The Banner County Prevention Coalition will receive $20,200 from the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services, Division of Public Health.

The grant will be used to implement school curriculums to discourage drinking and bullying.

Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Joann Schaefer, believes that by addressing underage drinking and bullying the coalition can have a positive influence on the lives of children at risk.
