A 19 year old Scottsbluff man has been arrested on murder charges following an invesitgation by area law enforcement.
Artie William Lowery was arrested this afternoon for second degree murder and use of a weapon to commit a felony associated with the death of 20 year old James Mendoza of Scottsbluff.
Other individuals arrested as an accessory to a felony include 20 year old Joseph Lowery, 17 year old Rozlyn Lowery, and a 14 year old female from Scottsbluff.
Late Sunday night Scottsbluff police were called to a car accident on avenue D.
Upon arrival the officers discovered that the victim, James Mendoza, had been assaulted.
Mendoza was transported to Regional West Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.
An autopsy has been ordered by Scotts Bluff County Attorney Tiffany Wasserburger.
