Minatare residents got a little exercise Thursday while celebrating freedom.
Minatare's annual Freedom Walk was designed to remember the heroes of September 11th and to give residents a chance to display their patriotism.
Organizer, LeAnn Nuss, says many of the kids in the schools are too young to remember the 9/11 terrorist attacks and she believes that it's important for them to learn about the event, even if it is a little painful.
Nuss said, "I think it's an important thing to remember, not a very nice thing to remember, but I do think that it definitely has it's place in history and needs to be explained and taught to the kids now".
The walk began at Minatare Elementary and went down Main Street and to Chamber Park.
