HASTINGS, Neb. (AP) - Authorities in central Nebraska have taken one boy into custody following a shooting that critically injured a horse.
The Adams County sheriff's department says the owner of the horse reported the shooting around 6:30 p.m. Sunday near Hastings.
Deputy Sheriff John Stewart says the owner described the car to dispatchers, who passed the information on to Hastings police. Police found a car matching the description a short time later at a park. Police questioned two boys found at the park, with one being released and the other taken into custody.
