KAB promotes Recycling Education week

Posted: Updated:

Keep Alliance Beautiful aims to teach people in the town all about recycling by dedicating a whole week to the topic.

Keep Alliance Beautiful is holding recycling education week until saturday to inform the town of all the changes in their recycling.

"The purpose of recycling education week is to be out here in front of all the recyclers and work with them, teach them about new improvements, what has changed, gotten better," said recycling program director, Pasha Gonzalez.

The organization has made some changes to the items that they are recycling.

Currently, they are not accepting glass, which they are working on reinstating.

And they are using the week to introduce their new recycling trailers to the community.

But the week is about more than just teaching about what they have to offer the community.

It is about informing everyone about why they should recycle.

"Part of educating people who do recycle is the effect of they will educate others and it's a recruiting process every day for everybody and for those who don't recycle."

Keep Alliance Beautiful will be on hand at the recycling trailers located on 3rd Street and Cody Avenue from 9 AM to 6 PM for the rest of the week.

The weeks events will conclude at 6 PM on Saturday.
