Delayed construction on a major road in Sidney has city officials nervous that the road won't be open by this weekends Oktoberfest celebration.
Last week's rainy weather put construction on 10th Street in Sidney behind schedule.
The asphault on the road is being replaced with concrete and city officials say if the construction isn't finished before Oktoberfest it could cause some issues.
Public Services Director, John Hehnke, said, "we have a lot of events in Legion Park which is adjacent to that road so we'd have to do detours through a little bit of a tight area with residential homes, so we really want to try to get it open because it will create a bottleneck".
Another road in Sidney undergoing major work right now is 8th Avenue by the chamber building.
The road is being completely replaced under Sidney's Downtown Improvement Project.
Crews are expecting the 8th Avenue project to take three to four weeks to complete.
