CLAY CENTER, Neb. (AP) - A former Adams County Treasurer's Office employee has been sentenced to one year of probation in a tax evasion case.
Michelan Parr of Hastings pleaded no contest in August to charges of official misconduct and abuse of public records. She was sentenced Friday in Clay County District Court.
Parr is the daughter of former Adams County treasurer Julia Moeller. Authorities charged the pair last fall and accused them of collaborating to help Moeller avoid paying sales tax on a motor home she bought.
Moeller has pleaded no contest to tax evasion and official misconduct. She faces up to 5 1/2 years in prison when she's sentenced on Nov. 6.
Moeller resigned as treasurer in January.
