Acres added to PATH Program in Saunders County

LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) - The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission says a program for mentored youth hunts has additional acres available.
Six new "Passing Along the Heritage" sites, also known as PATH sites, have been added at Lake Wanahoo, located a mile north of Wahoo in Saunders County.
The Lower Platte North Natural Resource District added sites totaling almost 650 acres. They range in size from 40 to 200 acres and allow for deer, upland bird and waterfowl hunting.
PATH has more than 16,000 acres enrolled statewide. The program allows hunters age 17 or younger to hunt with an experienced hunter, or mentor. The mentor is not permitted to hunt in order to focus his attention on the youth, ensuring a safe, successful hunt.
