Associated Press - October 25, 2009 9:05 AM ET

LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) - The Nebraska Supreme Court has honored two judges for exceptional service.

Chief Justice Mike Heavican recently presented awards to Sarpy County Judge Robert Wester and Adams County Judge Michael Offner.

Wester was nominated for his long-term, ongoing service to the Stephen Center, an Omaha shelter for the homeless.

Offner was honored for his commitment to Nebraska's smaller communities. Offner has turned to technology to help court operations, including implementing the use of Skype, an online technology that transmits video and audio.

Additionally, Offner is the first county judge to have established National Adoption Day in his courthouse.
