Hundreds of high school students from Nebraska and Wyoming gathered together Monday in Scottsbluff to test their marketing skills.

The Scottsbluff High School's DECA chapter hosted the Greater Nebraska DECA Career Development Conference Monday at the Monument Mall.

DECA is a marketing association that helps students enhance their marketing abilities by having them apply their skills during competitions.

Scottsbluff DECA sponsor, Derek Deaver said, "it teaches them life long skills, career skills they'll use whenever dealing with situations and dealing with adults, using creativity in marketing, and business skills as well so it's also a professional conference so they understand professionalism and business ethics as well".

Scottsbluff Chapter President, Jackson Pahlke, says he's learned so much from the group and he's also made some new friends.

Pahlke said, "it's a lot of fun, you all get together and talk about how the days going it's really a good way to meet new friends".
