LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) - Lincoln police have released the name of a 28-year-old man who they say was shot by a friend.

In a news release Wednesday, the man was identified as Nathan Kuhn.

A 23-year-old friend, Chance Paap, was arrested Tuesday on suspicion of manslaughter.

Police say Paap told them that he and Kuhn were drinking at Paap's home when Paap decided to get his .45-caliber handgun from his safe. Paap was spinning the gun on 1 of his fingers when it went off, and the bullet struck Kuhn.

Paap says he panicked and fled the state. He returned to Lincoln on Tuesday and reported Kuhn's death to police. Kuhn's body was found inside a closet at Paap's home.

A jail spokesman says Paap is still in custody.
