Here's some music for your ears: a union agreement involving the Omaha Symphony will keep them playing through the 2010–2011 symphony season.
Symphony musicians agreed to a five percent pay cut as part of a new two–year contract with the symphony.
The agreement was ratified by the musicians union, and the symphony's board accepted it on Thursday.
Board Chairman David Slosburg says the contract reflects the difficult economic times.
Union representative Karen Sandene says the musicians understand the economic challenges the symphony faces, and the performers are glad to be able to return to performing.
The Omaha Symphony was most recently in the Panhandle last March to perform with fifth graders from Scottsbluff and Gering.
