OMAHA, Neb. (AP) - A judge has dismissed terroristic threat charges against an Omaha high school student accused of making a hit list of classmates and relatives.
But prosecutors may refile charges against 17-year-old Michael Murphy.
Murphy's attorney argued there isn't enough evidence to prove that her client made any threats. And on Wednesday, Judge Marcena Hendrix agreed.
Investigators said the now-former Millard South student created a hit list with 10 names on it. Along with the list, investigators found a journal that detailed plans for killing the people on the list. They also found four knives in Murphy's bedroom.
Murphy has since been expelled from Millard South.
Police said an anonymous tip led them to search Murphy's home.
