As Western Nebraskans suffered the loss of internet for several hours Thursday afternoon crews were working to repair a cut fiber.
Internet access to the panhandle was cut off for four hours Thursday after someone digging near Cozad cut a vital fiber.
The fiber that was damaged connects Western Nebraska to a major server in Kearney that provides internet access.
The Director of Government Relations and Communications for Charter Communications, Tucker Carlson, said as soon as they were informed about the cut crews worked quickly and efficiently to repair the break.
Carlson said the internet went down around 3:30pm and was back up and running a little after 8:00pm Thursday night.
