LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) - A man convicted of child abuse and contributing to the delinquency of a minor has been sentenced to a year and a half in jail.
Police say 29-year-old Francisco Rodriguez-Renteria of Lincoln had a friend pick up two runaways - girls ages 11 and 13 - last November. He then gave them beer and had sex with the 11-year-old.
Lancaster County Judge Gale Pokorny says the girls' parents prevented hospital exams and interviews immediately following the crimes. Pokorny says that may have prevented Rodriguez-Renteria from facing more serious charges.
