OMAHA, Neb. (AP) - Lori Hogan, a University of Nebraska at Omaha alumnus who went on to help found Home Instead Senior Care, will be honored at the school's winter commencement.

Hogan will receive the UNO Alumni Association's Citation for Alumnus Achievement on Dec. 18.

The award is given to an alumnus who excels in his or her career, participates in community service and is involved in professional groups.

Hogan got a bachelor's degree in psychology from UNO in 1984.

She and her husband, Paul, started Home Instead in 1994. The company is a nationwide franchise that provides elder care.

Last year, the couple donated $10.2 million to the University of Nebraska Medical Center for construction of a geriatrics center named after the company.
