OMAHA, Neb. (AP) - A man serving a life sentence for killing a Pawnee City farmer has been given an additional 9-year term for robbing a bank in a small southeast Nebraska town.

Patrick Schroeder was convicted in the April 2006 beating death of 75-year-old Kenneth Albers. Schroeder's appeal in that case is pending before the Nebraska Supreme Court.

Schroeder this fall pleaded guilty to robbing the Bank of Steinauer at gunpoint in January 2006.

U.S. District Judge Richard Kopf this week sentenced Schroeder to nine years and three months in federal prison for the robbery. He took $3,328 from the bank.
