NORFOLK, Neb. (AP) - A South Dakota man remains in a northeast Nebraska jail, accusing of leading officers on a 60-mile chase.

Pierce County Attorney Verlyn Luebbe (LOO-bee) confirmed Monday morning that 50-year-old Phillip Woodward of Yankton, S.D., was still in custody, but Luebbe would not comment further about the case.

The State Patrol says the chase began around 9:40 Friday night on U.S. Highway 20 near Waterbury, when a trooper tried to stop a car for speeding.

The car took off west and eventually turned south on U.S. Highway 81. Chase speeds reached 100 mph. Stop sticks deployed by the patrol flattened 3 of the car's tires.

The patrol says the car rammed two patrol cruisers before it went out of control just north of Norfolk and came to rest in a ditch.
