Scottsbluff man pleads not guilty to arson

A Scottsbluff man accused of setting multiple fires in the city in recent months has pleaded not guilty to the felony charges he faces.

Twenty year old Matthew Ralston has been charged with five counts of second degree arson and three counts of tthirddegree arson.

Ralston initially was accused of setting seven fires, beginning in late August.

Prosecutors recently added one more to the list.

He is being held in the Scotts Bluff County jail.

Authorities say Ralston was resporesponsibleblazes at the vacant City Limits Motel and the Lakota Lutheran Center, among other places.

A pretrial hearing is set for January 19th.
