LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) - A man who moved to Shickley last year has been sentenced to nearly three years in federal prison for failing to register in Nebraska as a sex offender.
Allen Douglas was sentenced late last week to 33 months in federal prison.
Douglas was convicted in 1994 in California of molesting an 8-year-old and had been required to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life.
He was later convicted and jailed until 2006 in California for failing to register as a sex offender in that state.
Federal authorities say Douglas moved to Shickley in June 2008, failing to notify California authorities of his move and failing to register in Nebraska as a sex offender.
