YORK, Neb. (AP) - At least six people have died in Nebraska car accidents this week on slick roads.
Three people, including an Omaha fire captain, were killed in two separate Interstate 80 crashes Wednesday evening.
The York County Sheriff's department has not yet released the names of 2 people killed in an accident near York Wednesday evening.
But the Omaha Fire Department says Capt. Roger Kruger was killed in an accident near York Wednesday evening. Firefighter Kevin Edwards was also injured in the crash.
The Nebraska State Patrol says Kenneth Vanderveen of Gering died in an accident near Wood River shortly after 7 p.m. Wednesday. An oncoming semi slid through the median, struck Vanderveen's westbound car and rolled on top of it.
