Posted: Updated:

A group at Western Nebraska Community College in Scottsbluff gave out free t-shirts along with a chance for students to reflect on the importance of the day.

The United Leaders for Cultural Diversity handed out breakfast and Martin Luther King Jr. t-shirts to WNCC students this morning in celebration of the day.

The group also played a video about the life of Martin Luther King Jr.

WNCC Director of Marketing, Mindy Burbach, said, "hopefully it will help them or remind them to take a moment out today and every day to just think about how far we've come as a country since Martin Luther King Jr. and all the things he has done, so hopefully today we'll students a chance to pause and remember the importance of our history and how it has shaped our future".
