UNL Extension sets conferences on no-till farming

Associated Press - January 31, 2010 10:05 AM ET

LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) - The University of Nebraska-Lincoln Extension has prepared two conferences on no-till farming.

The first is scheduled for Feb. 16 at the Ag Center in Holdrege, the second on Feb. 17 at UNL's Agricultural Research and Development Center near Mead.

Registration begins at 9 a.m.

The no-till technique is often defined as a way to grow crops without turning over or otherwise disturbing the soil through tillage.

Conference organizers say speakers will show farmers how no-till farming can work for them.
