The Chadron School Board unanimously votes to sell the old Whitney school building.
School Board President Charlie Kuskie says that the district is awaiting the value from an appraiser before it is put on the market.
Earlier this year the school board voted to close all four rural attendance centers, including the one in Whitney.
Kuskie says the district wants to get the buildings back on the tax roll as soon as possible.
He adds that it would be great if someone in the area can find a good use for it.
