Hay Springs native takes over as college President

She started her education in a small Hay Springs school house. Now she is taking over as the President of a college in California.

Dominican University of California will celebrate the inauguration of Mary B. Marcy as the University's ninth president on Saturday.

Marcy graduated from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln before receiving her Doctorate from Oxford University. Not bad for a small-town girl.

This is the first time in more than two decades, and only the ninth time ever, that the 122-year-old institution has installed a new president.
