Victim in Scottsbluff robbery ID'd, but MIA

Posted: Updated:

Members with the Scottsbluff Police Department have identified a victim in yesterday's attempted armed robbery, but investigators are still trying to apprehend the people involved.

Police are searching for 26-year-old Francisco Camacho, who is believed to have been one of the four people in this garage on 12th Avenue early Friday morning when two masked men entered with firearms.

Neighbors reported hearing gunshots in the area around this time, but police have not found evidence to support that claim.

All persons in the garage fled before officers arrived to the crime scene, but Camacho did contact his mother after fleeing the crime scene. She reported the crime to police after he contacted her.

Investigators continue to search for Camacho, and are seeking him for an interview. Anybody with information on his whereabouts are urged to call the Scottsbluff Police Department at 308-632-3071 or Scotts Bluff County Crimestoppers at 302-8-632-7867.
