As part of Scottsbluff Public Schools' initiative to raise awareness and stop bullying, each of the five elementary schools across the district is hosting a Bullying Awareness Week January 16-20, 2012. The week's theme will be "Stand Up! To Bullying" and various activities are planned at each school building.
Each school is having a Kids on the Block puppet presentation on the topic of bullying. The Kids on the Block puppeteers are led by Brenda Daum of Cozad and the group is sponsored by the Elks Club of Nebraska. For more information on the Kids on the Block visit their website at www.kotb.com .

Monday, January 16th
8:50 AM - Longfellow (one presentation K-2 and one presentation 3-5)
1:00 PM – Lincoln Heights (one presentation K-2 and one presentation 3-5)
Tuesday, January 17th
9:00 AM - Westmoor (one presentation K-2 and one presentation 3-5)
2:00 PM - Roosevelt (one presentation K-2 and one presentation 3-5)
Wednesday, January 18th
8:45 AM – Lake Minatare (school wide presentation)
Each building will also be holding daily bullying awareness activities such as bullying book discussions, anti-bullying pledges, video discussions, and creating a bully free kindness wall. Schools will be holding Friday assemblies with student and staff anti-bullying skits, songs, and dances created throughout the week.
