Three underage boys are in custody after an early morning car chase with police ends near Lake Minatare.
Police say 16-year-old, Jessie Pena, escaped from a prisoner transport vehicle, then stole a pickup truck and picked up two of his friends.
Deputy Sheriff Jason Perkins spotted the stolen truck in Scottsbluff and tried to stop the boys but they fled driving all the way to Lake Minatare before crashing the car and taking off on foot.
Police say the boys reached speeds of up to 90 MPH during the pursuit.
One teen was apprehended after only a few minutes while the two other two were caught several hours later when a rural homeowner spotted the suspects sitting on her porch.
