A snow sweeping storm is heading to the Panhandle and the city's Public Works Department has been preparing all week for what could be the first big snowfall of the season.
Before a storm, public works director Mark Bohl says his department makes sure all chemicals, equipment and machinery is ready for any winter weather heading their way.
Bohl says despite the lack of snow his workers haven't slowed down.
"I's been nice not having snow because we have been able to catch up on things that normally we can't catch up on in the winter time," Bohl said.
Even in warm weather conditions, the department needs to be prepared for the worst.
While it's hard to predict just how much snowfall may come this weekend, Bohl says Scottsbluff is ready.
"If it comes we will handle it, while if not we will just continue the way we are."
