A local gym is getting at risk teens in the ring to keep them out of trouble and off the streets.
The Guadalupe Boxing Club is trying to make a difference in Scottsbluff by opening their doors when others might be closed.
Kids from all ages and all walks of life come to the gym to seek refuge and leave their stress in the ring.
Bill Green runs the boxing program and he says the program is all about showing kids that there is another way. "Support what it's about which is getting kids off the street, getting them in the gym, getting them to work out their frustrations in a positive and healthy way"
Green says that they bring in pro fighters like, Robert "Red Hot" Frankel and Raul "El Chino" Carillo to help motivate and inspire the members of their gym.
Green says,"The idea is for people to look up to future champions, look up to these individuals as persons because they have overcome a life of gang activity and legal problems"
The Guadalupe Boxing Club is like a second home to many kids in this community and they're coming here day after day to use boxing as a tool to help them better their lives.
Green and the boxing club have produced a couple of champions already and they hope to continue that trend and helping troubled youth.
The Guadalupe Boxing Gym had an amateur boxing match on Saturday with more than 15 bouts and overwhelming community support.
