Hemingford announces hire of new police chief

Posted: Updated:

A new police chief is taking office in Western Nebraska.

The Hemingford village board recently announced Randy Milburn as the town's new police chief.

Milburn most recently held similar positions at police departments in Burlington, Colorado and St. Francis in Kansas.

Milburn replaces Mark Lindburg who resigned from the post last November.

Acting chief, police officer Forrest Hickman will resign next month after being passed over for the position.

Board members say Milburn will be available to meet the community at an open house Thursday afternoon.
