Haun requesting trial be moved out of Scotts Bluff County

Posted: Updated:

The lawyer for a Kimball City Council member charged with sexually assaulting a mentally disabled teenage boy is still seeking a change of venue.

The attorney for Scott Haun, today requested Haun's trial be moved out of Scotts Bluff County due to the publicity of the case.

A psychiatric evaluation of the mentally challenged boy was also requested to determine the boy's competency.

Haun has served on the Kimball City Council for the past 12 years, and says he has no plans to resign.

Judge Randy Lippstreu will consider the motions, but took no action today.
