A former Nebraska Senator is trying to reclaim his old Senate seat in the legislature.
Ernie Chambers filed paperwork recently to make a run for the North Omaha district Senate seat currently filled by Brenda Council.
Chambers represented the district for 38 years , one of the longest terms in the legislature's history.
He left office in 2008 due to term limits but is now eligible to run again.
Chambers is known for his legendary ability to delay bills and his procedural knowledge.
