Local high school students put their minds to the test as they compete in a random question competition.
Students from four KOTA territory schools gathered at Mitchell High School for the annual quiz bowl today.
High school students from Bayard, Mitchell, Hemingford and Kimball competed for the quiz bowl title.
Students participated in three games before Hemingford High School was crowned the winner.
Coach Marla Wade says the quiz bowl brings a variety of talent from different students.
"It's such random questions that you need someone who knows a little about everything," Wade said.
Student Hans Hansen says there are a few tricks students can use to improve their performance in the quiz bowl.
"Keeping up with current events and just reading, and I guess just being informed," Hansen said.
Hemingford High School will go on to compete in the Panhandle and western trials conference quiz bowls.
