A candidate for police chief in a small KOTA territory town is deciding to pursue other opportunities.
Officer Randy Milburn recently informed the Hemingford village board that he would not be accepting the position as chief of police.
Milburn declined the offer after concerns over acquiring his Nebraska police certificate raised problems.
Board members will begin contacting four other potential candidates interested in the position.
Board members hope to announce a new hire by February 21st during their regular meeting.
