Each senator in the state legislature has identified his or her priority bill for this legislative session.
At the halfway point of the current session, 467 bills have been introduced by state senators.
But each senator gets to chose one measure as a "priority bill", giving it precedence over the hundreds of other bills that ave been filed.
Speaker of the Legislature Mike Flood says it's crunch time to get the bills of highest importance onto the floor for debate.
"This is the point in the session where things are going to change markedly," remarked Flood. "On Tuesday we will not be back on general file order. We will be on priority bills. We will be putting priority bills on the floor and we will be taking them up."
Speaker Flood also says the legislature will now meet in full-day sessions, and will also work nights before the legislature adjourns on April 12th.
