Outdoor retail company to open national stores

A big time hunting and apparel company with origins in the Panhandle is expanding its national presence.

The outdoor retail store Cabelas announced plans to open three new locations across the country.

The three stores are scheduled to open in 2013 in Columbus, Ohio, Granville, Michigan and Louisville, Kentucky.

The retail giant first opened in Sidney over 50 years ago selling outdoor themed items including hunting, fishing and camping gear.

The stores are expected to provide over 500 new employment opportunities.
