America's toughest sheriff supports Bruning for Senate run

Nebraska Attorney General and U.S. Senate candidate Jon Bruning announced today he has the endorsement of Sheriff Joe Arpaio of Maricopa County Arizona. Bruning is running for the seat currently held by Senator Ben Nelson, who is not seeking re-election.

"Jon Bruning is a true conservative who understands the importance of enforcing our immigration laws and protecting our citizens," said Sheriff Arpaio. "Attorney General Bruning has a consistent record of supporting law enforcement and cracking down on criminals. I trust his leadership and know he'll be a strong conservative voice in the Senate."

"I'm honored to have the endorsement of Sheriff Arpaio," said Bruning. "He's a dedicated public servant and a true conservative leader in the fight to end illegal immigration."

Arpaio has been called "America's Toughest Sheriff." He gained national attention for his outspoken stance against illegal immigration.

The Attorney General has previous endorsements from the Nebraska Fraternal Order of Police, Speaker of the Legislature Mike Flood, 27 other current and former state senators, and 79 Nebraska county sheriffs and police chiefs. Bruning has also been endorsed by Citizens United, the American Future Fund PAC, former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee, and the Tea Party Express.
