Many people in KOTA Territory observed Ash Wednesday today

Today is Ash Wednesday which marks the official beginning of lent for many Christians in KOTA Territory.

Dozens of church members gathered at Our Lady Guadalupe Catholic Church' today to observe ash Wednesday.

Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of lent, which is a period 40 days where people traditionally give up a certain luxury.

Some participants receive marks made in black ash on their forehead in the sign of the cross.

Lent traditionally ends on Easter Sunday.
