Nebraska is one of three states receiving a grant to help manage water usage from the Republican River.
The $413,000 dollar grant is meant to help Colorado, Nebraska and Kansas resolve their long - standing feuds over water usage from the Republican River.
Kansas say Nebraska used more than it's share of water in both 2005 and 2006 and the state is currently seeking damage claims in court.
The 1943 compact says 49% of the river's water is allocated to Nebraska, 40% to Kansas and 11 % to Colorado.
The Republican River flows from Colorado into Nebraska near MccCok, and then runs into Kansas.
