Swimming excursion lands man in jail in Chadron

A dip in the local swimming hole over the weekend lands a Chadron man in jail.

30-year old Michael Alford was arrested on Saturday at the city ponds.

Police responded to a call that said a group of people were swimming, even though it is not allowed.

After a brief investigation, it was determined that Alford is a registered sex offender from South Dakota... but failed to register in Nebraska.

Alford is being held at the Dawes County Jail on ten percent of a $10,000 bond.
