Warm weather in the panhandle has pushed the wheat harvest ahead of schedule.
Crossroad Cooperative location manager Jason Post says the wheat harvest began this weekend, a week earlier than usual.
He says the harvest typically begins after the 4th of July.
The warm weather has caused local wheat crops to mature early forcing a quick harvest but even with the early start post says the quality of the crop hasn't been affected.
Post says with the dry weather, the wheat harvest will go very quickly.
