Lieutenant Governor Rick Sheehy visits the panhandle to celebrate downtown area improvements.
Sheehy stopped in Scottsbluff today as part of his Department of Economic Development tour.
The state-wide tour is part of an effort to showcase successful downtown revitalization projects.
Sheehy met with local community members to tour the improved streets and buildings of downtown Scottsbluff.
He says it's important to continue embracing downtown areas across the state.
"Downtown's are still the hearts of many communities, that's still where we find our financial services, our government services, that's where a lot of community events happen."
Scottsbluff is currently in the second phase of its revitalization project after receiving state grants to fund improvement efforts.
