Two local businesses are teaming up to get much needed supplies to firefighters in Colorado.
The Union Bar in Gering is collecting water and other supplies to give to the numerous fire crews in Colorado.
Union Bar owner, Carla Swanson says so far more than one thousand cases of water and supplies have been collected.
Swanson says Western Nebraska is very generous and the outpouring of donations has been unbelievable. "We felt so helpless that we needed to do something. We can't go down to fight the fires so we thought you know let's see if we can get Western Nebraska to come together and fill up a trailer full of supplies for the firefighters down there that they were needing."
The Union Bar will collect supplies until Sunday afternoon.
The NTC truck will deliver the supplies to Colorado by Monday.
