Regional West restricting young visitors to prevent virus spread

Officials at a Panhandle hospital ask that kids younger than 15 not visit the hospital unless they have a medical condition that needs to be treated.

The visitation restriction comes after a recent increase in pediatric viral infections in the community.

Staff at the hospital say fewer visitors will help protect patients at the hospital from being exposed to illnesses.

Visitation restrictions are in place at the birth and infant care center and the pediatric and neonatal departments
