Food vendors enjoy fair season

Posted: Updated:

The Scotts Bluff County Fair has it all; rides, live entertainment, and of course, food.

Dozens of vendors are set to be out at the fairgrounds over the course of the week, selling everything from turkey legs, roasted corn, and anything fried you can possibly imagine.

Les Dowell and his family have been vendors at the County Fair for about 12 years. They stay busy running their "Cornhusker Roast" trucks from April until September.

However, it is a labor of love during fair season... and they don't idle in the winter months. "Well not really, no" says Dowell. "We all have other jobs, different activities going on. We've got kids in school, kids doing sports and what not. This is a summer family deal."

Cornhusker Roast will be busy with the Scotts Bluff County Fair this week, and then move on to the next big fair the following weekend.
